Before You Travel: Preparing for Your Arrival in China

Prepare your arrival around confirmed instructions from your host institution.

Confirm the official instructions

Ask your institution for the registration period, campus address, accommodation arrangements and arrival contact. Check whether any arrival service is actually included before relying on it.

Use the Chinese embassy or authorised visa centre serving your place of application for current entry-document requirements. Your admission documents do not replace the required travel and entry permissions.

Prepare a practical arrival pack

Keep the institution’s instructions, contact numbers and accommodation address accessible offline. Arrange a realistic travel plan and a way to contact your host if the journey changes.

Budget for the first days and any confirmed payments due on arrival. Keep important documents secure and avoid sharing them through informal public channels.

Know the next administrative steps

Ask the international office which registration and post-arrival procedures apply to you and when they must be completed. Follow the current instructions of the competent authorities and your institution.
