Preparing Your University Application: A Practical Checklist
Organise requirements, documents and deadlines before you submit.
Huajiao · Updated 3 November 2026
Start with the university’s list
Create one checklist per program using its current official instructions. Requirements can differ between study levels and institutions; a general list cannot replace the program’s own requirements.
Record the application route, deadline, required file format and any stated translation or certification requirements. Identify anything that needs extra preparation time.
Make the file consistent
Review spelling of names, dates and qualification titles across your documents and application. Keep clear, readable scans and descriptive filenames.
Where requested, tailor your study plan or research proposal to the program. Give referees sufficient time if recommendations are required.
Track submission and next steps
Save the submission confirmation and application reference. Monitor the official channel for requests for clarification, interviews or additional material. Send identity and other sensitive records only through the approved secure channel.
